Jessica Spears has been supporting individuals and families since 2009. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University in 2009. After graduation Jessica began working with hospice where she provided direct care to patients and their families. While working closely with other disciplines each patient received a “total care” approach. Jessica received her Masters degree in social work from the Joint Master of Social Work Program through the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T in 2012. Jessica’s focus shifted to providing intense psychotherapy to high risk hospice patients and family members including children as young as 4 years old. Jessica has been able to support children, adolescents, adults, and couples as they move through the grief process and begin to find balance in life again.
Jessica is trained in multiple therapeutic interventions including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy , Play Therapy, Art Therapy, support groups, grief and loss, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety disorders, depression, suicidal ideation, pain management and suffering, mindfulness, parenting skills, etc..
Jessica has worked with many difficult cases successfully. She has the ability to support complicated individual and family situations increasing the likelihood of success. It’s Jessica’s clinical awareness and amazing work ethic that increases her ability to be successful with clients.
